Heirloom variety originating from Germany, specifically from the Black Forest, another variety highlighted by Joe Bratka. Its translation from English gives: "airy leaf", probably in connection with its very fine, sparse and vaporous foliage. Introduced to the Seed Savers yearbook in the 1990s.

Pink fruit with greenish shoulders weighing 150 to 300 grams, elongated "Cornue des Andes" type +/- 6 cm in diameter and +/- 12 cm long with a pointed nipple on its apical end.

Dense and "dry" flesh containing very little gel and seeds. Sweet and rich flavor, ideal for making sauces and other coulis.

A medium-growing plant with a frail appearance and wispy foliage, like most elongated varieties.

Good mid-season production.
