Belgian heirloom, is part of the varieties collected by Rita DeClercq during her research of Belgian heirlooms, grown in Flanders, at the request of Dan and Val McMurray.
Red fruit of 150 to 300 grams of beefsteak type. Some describe it as rather flattened, others as round to oblong, in both cases with a more or less pronounced ribbing on the shoulders.
Beefy flesh with a good old-fashioned tomato flavor, although slightly acidic.
Thin skin, hence a certain tendency to burst or circular cracking in rainy weather.
