BEN GANTZ
Cross between "Stupice" and "Cherokee Purple" native of the USA.
Variety resulting from the crossing of 'Stupice' and 'Cherokee Purple' developed between 2003 and 2008 by Paul Gantz of Hagerstown in Maryland, USA. Distributed in 2009 in F6 through the members of 'Tomatoville' for comparison. The results were very positive both in terms of earliness and taste.
Fruit size varies from 180 to 250 grams but can reach 500 grams. Beef steak type, most often flattened with waving shoulders, the bigger the fruit, the better.
Pink and juicy beef flesh, very good to excellent flavor.
Early variety for large fruits, potato foliage.
