Variety originating from France, whose history is not known, presented in the Seed Savers Yearbook of 2007.
Golden yellow fruit turning orange at full maturity, 150 to 250 grams, round and smooth with sometimes on the large fruits the beginnings of ribbing at the shoulders.
Fleshy, very juicy, multi-located flesh with lots of gel and seeds. Good sweet flavour.
Not to be confused with the "Big Orange" marketed on US sites, which is much larger and beefsteak-like. The name is so generic that it is confusing.
