Variety whose origin remains unknown, note that there are two varieties registered in the Seed Savers Yearbook under the name of Big Orange: 'Big Orange Bicolor' and 'Big Orange Cool Ridge'. Contrary to its name the fruit is not orange but yellow covered with a pink blush.
Fruit of 300 to 600 grams of beefsteak type, irregularly shaped, flattened, ribbed at the top and with more or less waving or curved shoulders.
Orange beef flesh with pink marbling. Excellent sweet and fruity flavor.
Plant with great development, dense regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Good yield from mid-season but higher in the second part of the season.
