Originally from Spain, it is one of the varieties used to make the famous "Pimento de la Vera" pepper.
Named Bola when fresh, it is called "Cascabel" when dry, because of the rattle sound made by the seeds inside the fruit.
Globular fruit (bola means globe in Spanish) with a thin wall whose skin hardens as it dries.
Ripens from green to red.
Good for drying and powdering.
Heat: 5,000 to 8,000 SHU.
