Variety obtained by exchange with a Lithuanian collector, who provided me only with its translated name "Délice", probably originating from Russia or the Baltic States.
Very large red fruit, from 500 g to 1 kg, round beefsteak-like, ribbed on the upper half, with more or less rounded shoulders.
Dense, full flesh, very small cavities containing few seeds. Delicious sweet flavor.
Wide-growing plant, sparse regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Regular production from mid-season, few fruits, 6 to 8, but only large ones exceeding 500 g.
NB: there is a variety originating in the USA known as "Delicious", bred in the 1960s, but which would have nothing to do with this one.little-known variety, originating in the former GDR, resulting from natural crosses of beefheart varieties, developed and bred over many years by Reinhard Kraft.
Pink fruit, from 200 to 450 grams, in the case of double-flowered fruit, elongated plum-shaped, up to 15 cm long.
Beefy flesh, not paste-like as its shape might indicate.
Strong-growing, robust plant, abundant regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
High production, mostly in the second half of the season.
Good fruit keeping qualities after picking.
Harvest 2023, bag of approx. 15 seeds.
