Controversially, this was the first name given to "Cherokee chocolate" by Craig LeHoullier, which has led to some confusion. Both names are recorded in the Seed Savers Yearbook but appear to refer to the same variety. However, the variety marketed by Victory seeds, "Cherokee red", has nothing to do with the previous ones.
