A heirloom variety from the Ukraine, seed obtained by Carolyn Homme from a Ukrainian immigrant named Chris (Krzystos Syzymanski), hence the name.
Large, pale pink, 250-500 gram beefsteak-like fruit, flattened, ribbed and with rippled shoulders.
Juicy beefy flesh with occasional semi-sunken pockets. Good flavour without more, subject to growing conditions.
Very average production.
