Variety originating from the United Kingdom, developed by Paul Tellhelm and introduced by Ernst Benary in 1950/1951. Marketed in 1960 under the name "Sugar Lamp".
Synonyms: Gardener's delight, Gartner Wonne, Sugar lump, Monplaisir.
Round, dark red cherry-like fruit weighing 15 to 25 grams and 2 to 4 cm in diameter. Clusters of a dozen or so.
Firm and juicy flesh. Good sweet flavour with a hint of acidity.
Large plant that can grow to more than 2.0 metres, with early and abundant production.
