The origin of this variety is unclear, Fred Zipp of Indiana listed this variety in 1998 in the Seed Saver Yearbook as a small/medium pink fruit variety, a heirloom dating back to before World War II, with no leaf type specified. Today this variety produces large pink fruit and exists in both leaf types!
Large pink fruit weighing 250 to 400 grams, flattened and slightly ribbed at the top. Clusters of 3 to 4 fruits; depression with medium stem attachment. 7 to 8 sepals.
Juicy flesh with a nice dense and firm texture, containing few seeds, with an excellent sweet taste, some comparing it to the "Rose de Berne".
