Canadian heirloom variety, original seed from Ted Maczka in Ontario who grew it for years but didn't know its exact provenance. Featured in the 2011 Seed Saver Yearbook by Carolyn Homme, who described it as one of the best hearts he has found.
Large, pink, heart-shaped fruit weighing 200-400 grams (there is some variability in shape).
Fleshy, full, juicy beefy flesh with very few seeds. Very good flavour.
The plant appears frail with wispy, drooping foliage, like all heart-shaped varieties.
