Variety of unknown origin, featured in the 1997 Seed Savers Yearbook.
Purple-brown fruit with green shoulders, 180-300 grams. Round to slightly flattened at the poles and discreetly ribbed at the top, clusters of 4 to 5 fruits.
Fleshy and juicy beefy flesh with a very good smoky and rich flavour typical of "blacks".
Some grow determinate (Vent Marin) and others indeterminate (TatianaTomatoBase) (personally grown as a semi-determinate, bushy plant with very good and regular production).
Grown in 2016
Comments: conforms, good productivity
Vigorous plant with a bushy habit, grown as a semi-determinate to channel its vigour, abundant foliage.
Very good regular season production. Some variability in fruit size.
Good flavour.
No diseases to report.
First fruit: +/- 130 days after sowing - +/-81 days after transplanting.
Average weight: +/- 170 grams (100 to 220 grams). below standard, probably due to the large number of fruits!
