This strain is said to be a combination of two Russian strains "Korol Sibiri" and "Zotoy Korol", in fact both strains were sent by Valery Popenko to Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds who grew them and found them similar and therefore named them the same. In 2010 he reintroduced them under a new name which is a combination of the two original names, without knowing that it is the original strain which is probably a mix of the two.
Synonyms: Golden king of siberia - Золотой Король - Король Сибири.
