Heritage originating from the Espelette region, Basque Country, South-West of France.
Conical and elongated fruit, sometimes slightly curved, 7 to 10 cm long.
Ripens from green to dark red.
Fruity and aromatic flavor, average heat from 1000 to 5000 SHU. Almost exclusively dried and powdered.
Plant has great development that can reach one meter.
Good mid-season production.
NB: "Piment d'Espelette" cannot be considered as a variety in its own right. This is the name given to Gorria pepper and especially the name given to the powder obtained after drying when it was grown in the region delimited by its AOC.
