GRUNGY IN THE SKY
Development by Tom Wagner. Small, round, salad-like fruit. Smooth, pure yellow skin.
Recent variety named in memory of Valerie McMurray "Grungy". Cultivar from Tom Wagner's cross of a dark yellow, crack-resistant "slicer" variety bred by Val McMurray with "Skykomish", a reputedly mildew-resistant variety. Stabilised by Phil Seneca of Goods Minds Seeds and released in 2011.
Small, round salad-like fruit.
Smooth, pure yellow skin. Thick, fleshy, juicy flesh with a sweet, well-balanced flavour, do not over-ripen as flavour deteriorates quickly.
Particularly resistant to disease and to a variety of weather conditions, including heat, drought, rain and humidity.
Plant with large development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Generous and regular production from mid-season until frost.
NB: this line also produced a bicolour tomato: "Grungy in the sky bicolor".
