This variety is believed to be of Italian origin, imported into Massachusetts, USA in the 1920s. It takes its name from the fact that it often produces double fruits that form a heart.
Red fruit weighing between 150 and 300 grams and varying in shape, elongated plum with varying degrees of chubbiness, some of the fruit being reminiscent of a banana.
Dense fleshy paste-like flesh with few seeds. Excellent sweet and mild flavour. Versatile variety for its use, to be eaten in salads or cooked to make sauces and coulis.
Vigorous plant with great development, good yield in the second half of the season.
