HOLY LAND, YELLOW STRAIN
Out of type of Holyland Red, USA. 250 to 400 grams beefsteak type fruit, flattened.
This variety appeared in Craig LeHoullier's garden in 1989, when he was growing the classic red variety 'Holy Land'. It is not yet clear whether this is a spontaneous mutation or the result of an accidental cross.
The fruit weighs 250-400 grams and is beefsteak-like, flattened, with more or less deeply ribbed and rounded shoulders.
Two-tone yellow colour with red mottling at maturity. Depending on the strain, the red colour is more or less dominant. Shallow but very wide and corky depression at the stem attachment.
Dense, yellow beefy flesh with red marbling. Multi-located. Excellent flavour.
