Heirloom that would have originated in Germany. Red fruit weighing 120 to 220 grams, of the Andean Cone type.
Heirloom variety believed to be of German origin, but this has not been formally established.
Synonyms: Howard German - Marianna's Howard German - Howard German Paste.
Red fruit 120-220 grams, +/- 15 cm long and +/- 7 cm in diameter, chilli pepper-like, looking like "Andean Cone", sometimes elongated piriform or banana-shaped.
Dry, almost gel-free paste-like flesh with few seeds.
Good sweet taste, excellent for making sauces or for drying.
A plant with great development and very good production in the second half of the season.
