A variety developed by Gordie Hanna by crossing pear varieties with a wild type in F2.
Red fruit 10 to 20 cm long, with an original calabash shape.
Firm red paste-like flesh with few seeds.
Small, low vigour plant with regular foliage and semi-determinate growth.
High yielding variety for the second half of the season.
Grown in 2015 under glass.
-Sown on 15 March
-Planted on 2 May
-Growth indeterminate then determinate
-A small, thin, rippled and slender plant with a strange, sluggish habit. First led as indeterminate then as determinate due to its weak vigour. Probably suffered from the heat of summer as it recovered in the later part of the year and produced more attractive fruit.
-Height +/- 1.40 m
-Foliage is very thin and long with a wispy habit, reminiscent of a sick or thirsty plant.
-Flower: 6 very long sepals and 6 petals
-Cluster composed of 1 long bunch of +/-6 fruits
Fruit: small size (40 to 60 gr), bottle-shaped
-Red colour
-Depression at the weak peduncular attachment.
-Trace of umbilicus at one point.
-Harvest: small, regular until frost. Slow to set and ripen.
-Dry flesh without gel and very few seeds.
-Taste is not very good.
