MARMANDE ANCIENNE
French heirloom. Red fruit weighing 150 to 300 grams, more or less flattened, with rounded shoulders.
Heirloom variety originating from the Marmande region, South of France.
Red fruit weighing 150 to 300 grams, beefsteak type, more or less flattened, with rounded or even curved shoulders for the largest sizes and more or less pronounced ribbing. Large depression at the stem attachment.
Fleshy and juicy beefy flesh, mulitloges. Very average taste of old tomatoes, rather sweet.
Low growing plant +/- 1.30m but very good productivity and good disease resistance.
Difficult to establish a chronology between this variety and the "Marmande" variety in order to know which one preceded the other, knowing that "Super Marmande" would be the most recent.
