A variety that is of Spanish origin, from the coastal region of Valencia and Alicante. Featured in the Seed Savers Yearbook of 1988.
Red fruit with yellowish shoulders weighing 150 to 250 grams, beefsteak type: round, flattened, grooved and ruffled at the shoulders.
Juicy flesh, excellent flavour, very well-balanced, sweet and mild. Versatile variety, to be used in salads as well as in cooking for sauces and coulis.
Due to its origins, it is best suited to a warm, dry climate.
