Very old fixed variety (16 century), originating from Armenia, registered in the GNIS catalogue. It seems to have been renamed and reintroduced under the name "Noire Coseboeuf".
Synonyms: Purple Calabash- Calabash Purple - Purpur Kallebasse.
Reddish purple to chocolate fruit when ripe. Very wrinkled fruit weighing 100 to 200 grams.
Flesh purplish red with greenish cavities containing many seeds, sweet and fragrant taste.
Good resistance to shattering. Very adaptable to arid climate. It thrives in mid-shade and benefits from morning sun.
