Heirloom from the Spanish island of Majorca. It is one of the varieties of hanging tomatoes "tomàquet ramallet" which have the particularity of keeping for several months once hung.
Round fruit, slightly flattened, 120 to 150 grams and 5 to 6 cm in diameter.
Pink epidermis veiling itself in orange when fully ripe.
Paste type flesh mainly used for making "tomàquet pa amb" (tomato bread) and stew.
Vigorous plant with wide development, abundant regular foliage determinate to semi-determinate growth to avoid invasion.
At the end of the season, the vines are uprooted and hung in a sheltered and airy place so that the fruits finish ripening, it is at this stage of aging that the optimal flavor of the fruits is reached.
