Heirloom variety from the region of Parma, Emilia Romagna, Italy.
Large scarlet red fruit, strongly wrinkled and more or less flattened, weighing 250 to 900 grams. Large depression at the stem attachment.
Firm beefy flesh with an excellent taste. In the past, it was mainly used for making sauce by the local processing industry.
Very hardy and productive variety.

-Very large, vigorous plant with a big stem. Difficult start in spring, seems to fear cool weather. Grown on 2 stems.
-Height +/- 2.40 m
-Foliage: dark green, very abundant, horizontal habit
-Flower: 9 sepals and 9 petals
-Cluster composed of 1 to 2 bunches of 4/5 fruits
-Fruit: large to very large, round, flattened, strongly ribbed/pleated and with discreetly rounded shoulders. The apical side is often deformed.
-Colour carmine red, yellowish green, more or less extensive spots on the upper part.
-Depression at the peduncular attachment deep, wide to very wide (+/- 3 cm), corky, from which scars may emerge in the talwegs.
-Trace of umbilicus in a circle or spot in depression
-Harvest: very good, regular until frost. Many cat flowers at the beginning of the season.
-Dense, fleshy, pink with red veins. Small pockets that can be +/- hollow.
-Excellent flavour.
