A heirloom variety believed to be of Italian origin, featured in the 1985 Seed Savers Yearbook.
Large, firm, red fruit weighing +/-250 grams and reaching up to a pound. Plum type, slightly stretched into a torpedo shape and sometimes heart-shaped, sometimes with a small nipple at the apical end.
Flesh contains little gel and seeds. Very good, well-balanced flavour. Excellent both fresh and cooked or in sauce.
Good yield. Plant has a large development. Very good shelf life once picked.
