Developed by the Beltsville Plant Industry Station in Maryland in the 1950's from crosses of 'San Marzano', 'Panamerican' and 'Red Top'. Mentioned from 1965 in the various seed catalogues of 'Clause', 'Vilmorin' etc.

Firm, fleshy and mealy flesh with little juice and seeds. Mainly used for sauces and preserves.
Very interesting variety because of its natural resistance to mildew.
A vigorous, determinate and very productive variety.
