A rare heirloom variety from Nancy Shriver Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, whose father obtained the seeds in 1916 and has been growing this variety ever since. Listed in the 1998 Seed Saver Yearbook by Chuck Wyatt.
Reddish-pink fruit weighing 300-450 grams, some can reach a kilo! Beef steak type with variable shape depending on the size, can even become misshapen. Mostly round, flattened at the poles, ribbed on the upper half and with rounded or even curved shoulders.
Beefy flesh with a mild, sweet flavour.
Produced in the second half of the season.
