Italian heirloom variety, presented in the 1993 Seed Savers Yearbook by Carolyn Homme who obtained the seed from Joe Huth who himself had it from his Italian hairdresser named probably "Spadaro".
Fruit reddish pink, from 180 to 350 grams, heart-shaped more or less pronounced and ribbed in high part.
Fleshy and dense beef flesh containing few seeds. Very good sweet taste. Excellent variety for making sauce and coulis.
